ADMISSION
The school admits candidates yearly.
The three-year Basic Nursing program, which starts in October, is meant for secondary school leavers. Application forms are advertised and purchased at a prescribed fee and candidates who fulfil the Nursing and Midwifery Council entry requirements are invited for the CBT entrance examination. Candidates who attain the desired entry points from the aforementioned assessment are selected for admission into the program.
The eighteen-month Post Basic Nursing Program starts in APRIL and is meant for registered Midwives. The application process is the same as that of the Basic Nursing Program.
The Community Nursing Programme shall be a two (2) year programme of study. Students shall be recruited from their wards or villages through fair and transparent manner with the involvement of the Local Government Health Department, Ward and Village Health Community Leaders, among others.
STUDENT INTAKE
The number of students approved for a Basic Nursing Program is 100 and their entry date is October of every year.
The number of students approved for Post Basic Nursing Program is 30 and their entry date is April of every year.
The number of students approved for a Licensed Community Nursing Program is 75 and their entry date is October of every year.
REGISTRATION
Registration of new students usually lasts for a week. On the first day, students are expected to show evidence of payment of all fees as stipulated in the admission. These include; tuition fees, NHIS, student information books, games, union, examination and assorted stationeries. No student will be registered without the full payment of fees. Payment of fees for indexing, uniforms, Record of Training Instruction, Book on Nursing Ethics, Semester exams and ID card are also inclusive.
Payment of school fees at a later date by students or sponsors will under no circumstances be entertained. Students are strongly advised to receive all fees from their sponsors before the registration days as defaulters will be rejected at the expiration of the last day of the exercise.
All students on registration must produce original copies of credentials for comparison with photocopies earlier submitted along with the application form. No student will be registered with a name different from the name he/she gained admission with, unless substantial evidence has been forwarded to and approved by the principal.
All students are required to complete registration forms given to them. The approved training regulation and hostel regulations forms must be thoroughly read and understood, and the students must append their signatures indicating their acceptance of all the contents therein. A letter of acceptance for the offer of admission must be written by each student. A compulsory medical examination to be paid by each new student is organized during registration period.
On the last Friday of the weeklong registration period, the School Director introduces formally the entire teaching staff to the new students; for the purpose of formalization and offer of advices to be of good behavior.
